Richard O'Dor

Richard has coached world leaders, executives, international media personnel, medical researchers, along with thousands of students. While a professor of Public Policy at Duke University, he received 17 NSF and other grants to train minority students in scientific presentations. Duke University News requested his consulting to launch media training for faculty. As a debate coach, his teams won numerous tournaments including Pi Kappa Delta Nationals. Richard did his PhD work at the University of Southern California.

Richard served as the Director of Communication to Her Highness of Qatar and communication consultant to the Emir of Qatar. He has analyzed and developed communication strategies regarding high profile media events, such as the World Telecommunication Development Conference, The Clinton Global Initiative, and United Nation's Alliance of Civilizations. As a speech writer, he has constructed numerous high-impact speeches for world leaders and CEOs.

He is currently director of the Business Communication Center at East Carolina University and president of Presentational Speaking, an international communication consulting company. Richard and his family reside on a 17-acre farm in Chapel Hill, NC.
